Artful Residence
Austin, Texas

Our clients, a family-oriented retired couple, wanted to create a very modern residence, with a focus on creating a continuous view from east to west, and a design with integrated architecture to conceal the blight and technology that accompanies modern living and high-rises.
An ornate oversize leaning mirror in the living room conceals the tv, a coffee bar in the kitchen in hidden within the cabinetry, a tv in the kitchen recesses into the island, and a bespoke dining table expands to accommodate their large family for entertaining.
The decidedly modern architecture includes materials that are reflective of the client’s personal style - sophisticated, warm, minimal, with some luxurious elements mixed in. The architecture adopts a subtle palette of materials that is the perfect backdrop for the furnishings, decorative accessories and vibrant art that reveal themselves as a collection of beautiful, curated objects.
“Design is not making beauty, beauty emerges from selection, affinities, integration, love.”
— Louis Kahn
