Collaborate: /kəˈlabəˌrāt/

  1. To work together, especially in a joint intellectual effort

Collaboration is the fundamental principle we build our process around. Our commitment to that process defines who we are and how we engage with our clients. At our core we are about putting our clients at the center of the design process. With teams tailored to specific project requirements, McWalters Collaborative engages with each client to explore and to discover design solutions that successfully address project issues and challenges holistically. Consortiums are composed of seasoned professionals selected for their specific experience and connection to our clients and their projects. Our combined experiences and expertise enable us to provide the highest quality design with impeccable client services.

Our process begins with clearly defining objectives. We continue with an exploration of ideas and concepts at varying scales to develop the most viable, appropriate and integrated design solution. McWalters Collaborative clients are involved every step of the way, with a dialogue focused on raising issues, sharing ideas and creating a context to determine the design solution. The process can be described as:

Exploration: Creation and interpretation of ideas and concepts
Experimentation: Integration and application of the best ideas
Implementation: Development and execution and coordination of those ideas into built form

We develop tailored solutions with our clients that strive to go beyond their goals and objectives. If our team is successful, the architecture created will reflect the honest collaboration of everyone involved in developing beautiful environments that reflect and embrace our clients. Architecture should do more than meet our clients’ needs; it should enhance and inspire the way they live and work.

“Always design a thing by considering it in it’s larger context – a chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in an environment, an environment in a city plan.”

— Eliel Saarinen
