This prestigious law firm wanted to relocate their New York offices from Wall Street to Midtown. Headquartered in Chicago, the client wanted the new space to be represent the firm’s established brand and aesthetic but paired down from the headquarters to be more practical and cost-effective.
We worked with our client on programming and feasibility studies to find a new location. One of the main draws of the selected building was its proximity to Grand Central Station, allowing for greater accessibility to their offices for both clients and commuters.
Due to the large floor plate, exaggerated and expansive corridors were created. Portals were used to break up and organize these large lengths of space. The walls to the perimeter offices were thickened to create a sense of transition and privacy. The casing detail at these doors is iconic to the brand of the firm. Traditional in design with classical architectural details, but in a reinvented way.
“No architecture is as haughty as that which is simple".
